Italian-Azerbaijani International Film Festival

Rome [ENA] The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the film production company Imago Group, United Cultures, and Sandro Teti Editore organized from 25th to 30th of January Italian-Azerbaijani International Film Festival with the aim to promote the past and present of cinema industry in Italy and Azerbaijan. The Festival is sponsored by the Embassy of Italian Republic, Nizami Cinema Center and The Landmark.

The Festival has got support by important scientific partners such as Ca'Foscari University in Venice, Azerbaijan University of Culture and Arts, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Sapienza University in Rome. By showcasing the film industries of both countries, in their similarities and their differences, this festival is interested in bringing them to the forefront of international film discourse, and stimulate international market presence. The Festival screens 15 films selected by Jury consisting of Azerbaijani and Italian experts.

Winners of the festival will be awarded with the "Zoroaster award". The actor and director Remo Girone, well-known throughout the former soviet-bloc region for his portrayal of Tano Cariddi in the serial "La Piovra", is the President of the Prize, while Italian screenwriter and director Claudio Rossi Massimi is the director of the festival. "Zoroaster award" will be presented to the winners of the festival. The prize is a sculpture realized by Alejandro Marmo. Alejandro Marmo ( 1971) is an Argentine artist born in the district of Tres de Febrero, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina . With his works he has created the concept of integration through art as a metaphor of cultural and industrial development.
